It is mid week and we are all settled into a routine here and feeling somewhat comfortable with the surroundings. In addition to the giant grasshoppers that come out at night, we have also discovered bats, aligators (3 foot long only), larger hairy black spiders and lots of other flying creatures. We have been warned to watch out for poisenous snakes around the houses. Unless we are in the vehicle going out for dinner, we tend to cocoon in the house when it turns dark.
Yesterday went went zip-lining. I had high expectation of seeing lots of unique wildlife, but you end up going so fast you really don't get a chance to see anything even if it was there. It was hot and muggy - all my clothes were completely soaked when we were done. I think zip-lining is something you should do once, and I have now done it twice.
We have met several nice people here. A man from Calgary (Ron) moved here permanently here 4 years ago and owns a small hotel. He gave me a beer and spend about an hour on the beach detailing where we should go eat and various ways to save some money. The Internet at the house has been real problematic lately, rarely working and when it does only for a short period.
We are going to go and explore the town this afternoon, and then out to dinner at the Agua Azul (Blue Water) restaurant.

Hi Guys..all sounds wonderful ..Kate, I wouldn't like a 5 inch grasshopper either..yikes.We really enjoy the updates..wrote a note to self re: ziplining..thanks for that info take care Shirl and Gary
