Roatan Day 5

The Scuba God’s have spoken and Ian is not cut out for diving. Although lesson one went well (Bikini Bottom), lesson two (The Bite ) was cut short with several swallows of water and a quick assent to the surface. No more – nadda – no more scuba for Ian! Kate on the other hand is still continuing and is having no problems. Kate can scuba dive and the rest of us will be content snorkeling above. (Don’t worry mom, she is with a master diver – 1 on 1)

The weather continues to be great; 80 – 85 degrees every day. It is suppose to be the rainy season, but we have yet to see a rain drop. We are getting more used to our routine – school from 9 – 12. We have lunch and then a family activity in the afternoon. Evening we typically eat out, and back for a good sleep. We not yet have the internet at our vacation home, and have to go down to the local internet café to get connected. Not sure we ever will get internet at the home, island time is a little slow make things happen.

PS. We have some great movies in our condo, Mom, you would be happy to know we have “Elephant Walk” with Elisabeth Taylor. I’ve have read the book you have but remember it’s one of your favorites. Other movies area; Casablanca (Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman); East of Eden(James Dean) and Key Largo (Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall)– a little bit of culture shock for the kids.

We are spoiled with our grocery stores back home, here in West Bay they don’t have the money to stock the shelves and they seem to always be waiting until the next boat. We are enjoying fresh milk right now but when it’s gone we will be back to the ultra pasteurized that taste burnt. I keep looking for bananas but they are extremely over ripe or too green to be true.
